The race to the sun, or not based on the weather conditions this year, is the first of 12 stage races that make up the season long stage race championship. A few people missed the deadline for this one, including Paul M who was leading the overall standings.

First place goes to Lee G who scored well with a team including the green jersey winner and good stage points. In second place was Dave McCall who had a similar team, but lost a couple of riders as the race went on. Russ A took third place.

Paul M who was leading drops two places to third. Lee G moves up to second by 28 points and we have a new leader with Russ moving into first place overall.
