Ride Report – Cotswolds Retro Ride 2026
Our second event based at Prescott attracted 140 riders and a collection of some of the most amazing bikes from old to new. The weather was a bit uncertain and having offered a led ride on the Saturday in the rain, Sunday teased with clouds and signs of rain, however it cleared and just got better.
Meeting at Prescott is a chance to be home proud, no matter what your steed. The range of styles, designs and stories behind the bikes is a magical thing. The route was the reversal of last year, but at the cafe stop, which was a brilliantly chaotic space of groups chatting and eating, the clear tone was what a great part of the world we were pedalling in. It is a good reminder of what we can take for granted living here and the energy and buzz for the villages and the views was huge.
There were so many stand out riders, bikes and groups, but it would be remiss to not mention a group of lads in co-ordinated bikes and kit for Raleigh Banana and ANC Halfords; a great group and so good to see all ages loving bikes.
All riders made it safely back to base, stories being told and no bikes fell apart, so a chance to relax with a beer or a coke at Prescott and just talk and laugh – magical. Whether we call it Retro, Vintage, or whatever, this event captures the brilliance of bikes of all ages and is a great chance to go for a ride in beautiful surroundings. V-Sprint did us proud with a great group supporting or riding and a shout to Harry and his mates for creating a brilliant video of the day.
Breaking news – The dates for next year and a new location have already been organised – 22/23 May so there’s plenty of time to “get retro”! Visit cotswoldsretroride.com
