SUMMARY:100th Cyclists’ Memorial Service Meriden
DESCRIPTION:The 100th Cyclists’ Memorial Service had been planned for Sunday 16th May\, but according to the government’s latest advice\, large out-door events will still be not allowed at that time. The new date is now fixed. It will be on Sunday 5th September\, and as ever it will take place on The Green at 11am. This centenary celebration of the initial dedication of this famous memorial promises to be a very special occasion.

SUMMARY:Tommy Godwin Challenge 2021 Sportive
DESCRIPTION:The Tommy Godwin Challenge sportive was set up in 2013 to honour the memory of 1948 Olympic cycling medallist Tommy Godwin.  The event is run entirely by volunteers  and profits go to fund the West Midlands Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull where Tommy spent his last few days. So far we have raised over £90\,000. \nTommy enjoyed cycling in the Warwickshire lanes and in later years was always keen to encourage other cyclists\, either established stars or total newcomers. With this event we aim to replicate Tommy’s experience of enjoying the countryside on our doorstep and his vision of encouraging young riders and other starting out on their cycling journeys. \nThere are three routes\, 30\, 73 and 100km.  There is chip timing and refreshment stops for the 70km and 100km while the 30km ride is for families and the less experienced cyclists. The routes are all well signed and there are GPX files and route instructions that you can download. \nAs always there will be medals for all finishers\, mechanical support\, first aid and we will be offering post ride refreshments\, photos and sports therapy all free.

SUMMARY:Stourport Circuit Sessions
DESCRIPTION:The Club has decided to put on some ride sessions at the Stourport Criterium Circuit on the last Sunday of every month from April 25th until 31st Oct. (12-2pm). This is a closed road 1Km circuit and excellent for riders to learn some cornering & racing skills\, but above all just have some fun. \nApril 25th is the first session\, If you are interested in attending this event then please book your place with Lee Gardner to ensure any current COVID guidelines are met. \nPlease support these events
