SUMMARY:Beyond the Dyke Audax
DESCRIPTION:211km cycling event starting from Belbroughton\, Worcesteshire. Controls at Craven Arms\, Presteigne and Belboughton. \nDwell with the Marcher Lords in the border bad lands of England and Wales. Offa may be dead but this part of the country remains remote and sometimes wild. Good for the autumn too! \nI am sure you will be asking\, is this another Beacon RCC Kidderminster Killer type event. No it is not. Whilst hilly in parts\, there are plenty of good easy bits in between but suffice to say you will feel pleasantly tired and rewarded at the end of the day. Across the Dyke was conceived years ago by the late Alan Mason. The event was resurrected in 2018 and received good reviews for the route but not for the wet weather. We cannot guarantee dry weather for 2021 but hopefully the weather will be better! Covid depending\, the GHQ will be laying on food yet again as we return to providing proper Audax calendar events again.

DESCRIPTION:Starting from: Belbroughton.\n214km cycling event starting from Belbroughton\, N Worcestershire. Controls at Church Stretton\, Montgomery\, Ludlow and Belbroughton.\, plus 3 information controls. \nTHIS EVENT IS RUNNING IN 2021! YIPPEE. The Kidderminster Killer is a classic audax that is challenging by reputation but very enjoyable to complete. Lots of Shropshire views across The Marches on route. \nThe 2021 route has been slightly changed to remind riders what hill climbing is like after the pandemic malaise. Outbound riders will head straight to Church Stretton before encountering The Long Mynd\, after which it as a loop through Montgomeryshire including The Cwm and Fiddler’s Elbow. Upon arriving at Ludlow you could head for a Michelin Star restaurant if that is your sort of thing. Then the final stretch takes around the side of Clee Hill and back to Belbroughton. This is a stunning route but with lots of up and down along the way. Take time and enjoy the views.

SUMMARY:Gospel Pass Skivers Audax
DESCRIPTION:Gospel Pass Skivers is another new 200km x-rated event starting from Bewdley on Friday 14th May. No prizes for guessing the destination of this event. Whilst the Gospel Pass is a popular location for many audax events\, quite a few sections en-route are branch new\, especially on the Herefordshire section through Woolhope and behind the Malvern Hills. The route qualifies for 3.25 AAA.

DESCRIPTION:Begwyns\, Books and Stones is scheduled for 17th April and is a brand new 200km ‘x rated’ event starting from Stourport\, heading for the Begwyns\, the Wye Valley\, Arthur’s Stones and back through the Teme Valley. There are hilly sections but the route contains flatter sections in between. It is already fully booked but please get in contact for the reserves list. A few riders usually declare ‘DNS’ before the event.

Wide choice of commercial controls in Ironbridge and Kinver. \nEarn your pink badge on the day the Giro is decided. A new route for 2020\, an even more scenic loop of Birmingham\, across five counties (West Midlands\, Staffordshire\, Shropshire\, Worcestershire and Warwickshire) and several beauty spots\, including Cannock Chase\, Ironbridge\, the Severn Valley. Hollywood-like views of the city from the Clent Hills! An undulating route that follows B roads and quiet country lanes\, with very little traffic. Likely to get fully booked\, sign up early to avoid disappointment. Starts at Balsall Common (Berkswell station)\, direct early morning trains from Birmingham New Street and Coventry. Trains from London too.

DESCRIPTION:102km cycling event starting from Bushley. Controls at Chaddesley Corbett\, plus 2 information controls. \nNew for 2020. A pretty early Spring ride. An eclectic mix of gentle rolling countryside\, along lanes\, tow-paths\, cycle routes through urban areas and a few A/B roads. Fine views throughout the ride. \nLeaving Bushley\, the ride heads north mainly on quiet lanes and old drover routes through rural Worcestershire. The turnaround is at Rowberrys Garden Centre Café. You return and cut through most urban stretches on cycle routes\, a section of canal-side path\, traffic-free paths. There’s optional places to pitstop on the return at the country park in Worcester. The latter stages also pass through Croome Park.

SUMMARY:Beacon CC Sunrise Express / Snowdrop Express
DESCRIPTION:The Beacon RCC February audaxes are an institution on the Audax UK calendar\, attracting 260 entries each year. The routes use quiet country roads through rural Worcestershire to Evesham and Upton. A gritted alternative is also available if icy. \nOur two February events\, the Sunrise Express and the Snowdrop Express\, are both 123km in length and they follow the same route\, but travelling in opposite directions. The start times are staggered to give riders a choice and to ease congestion at the HQ.

DESCRIPTION:110km cycling event starting from Tewkesbury. Controls at Stratford -upon-Avon.\, plus 4 information controls. \nAn A-road-free day. Cycle a journey similar to one that William Shakespeare often made. A benign route mainly on minor roads\, lanes and non-motorised routes. \nThe entire route is spent in the vale of Evesham\, so no hills to worry about\, just leisurely cycling along a benign route taking through picturesque Gloucestershire\, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Comprehensive event details (soft) supplied to all entrants. No need for SAEs as ride will be validated at arrivee. GPS\,Route sheet & ride details will be distributed 2 weeks before event.
