Steve Fox – Care of Police Survivors (CoPS) Charity Ride 2017
After recent terrorist events in London and Manchester, and the Grenfell tower fire, one of out members is raising money for Care of Police Survivors (CoPS), a charity which helps support families of Police Officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
Steve is a Station commander for the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue, when his shifts allow he rides on the club rides on a Sunday and is a keen supporter of the club
In Steve’s own words ….” I have recently taken up cycling in a bid to try a new competive sport. Having made a new network of friends I got involved in this charity ride. The CoPS charity supports Police officers families of those who have fallen in the line of duty.
Having seen first hand what officers go through on a daily basis and the images of both the Manchester and London attacks, coupled with the images of Police officers shielding my colleagues from London Fire Brigade from falling debris using riot shields whilst they were committing to Grenfell Tower desperately trying to save life, I take my hat of to them. I have signed up to ride for a charity which most officers hope there dependants will never need.
The event is 210 ish miles through the West Mercia Police area finishing at the National Arboretum in Staffordshire.
Please help me try and reach my target of £400. In anticipation of your donation thank you, no matter how small it will make a difference.”
V-Sprint are asking all of our members to get behind Steve and help him on his way to raising £400, either by encouragement or by donating on his justgiving page.
